I own all the items for the following customs. Below, you can get a sneak-peek into the backstory of the Dark Dragon.
Minions
The Dark Dragon started out as just another bomber in the Darigan Army, but rose in ranks due to his incredible charisma among the troops; even with his reputation of extreme punishments for those that failed him. When he would make a speech prior to battle, all listening would be whipped into a frenzy and the resulting carnage was truly horrifying. His superiors never expected him to become the monster he would be...
Battle Laughter
On the outskirts of the now Kingdom of Meridell, great crusades were waged, and in the
Great Devastation, the Dark Dragon could be heard periodically throughout the months long assault of the forces of Darigan against the regiments of Meridell. His shrill, maniacal giggling could turn the tide of small skirmishes as it would send chills up the spines of the uninitiated.
Poisoned Pool
Part of the horrors of the
Great Devastation, was that the water sources had been tainted prior to the beginning of the war. No one knew for sure who was responsible until after the Dark Dragon had gone into self-imposed isolation; and evidence surfaced that he had gone deep underground and cast spells and added toxic liquids to the water table. The water remained unusable for hundreds of years.
Fun and Games
For a while after the
Great Devastation ended, the Dark Dragon wandered the lands of Neopia, causing chaos, tragedy, and havoc everywhere he went. For him it was like a small child smushing Veespa on the playground.
His favorite place to go was Tyrannia, as he could gorge on the Giant Omelette after terrorizing the locals. Although he also stumbled upon a land of all jelly; surely that must have been a fever dream... ?
Attack on Northern Tyrannia
The Dark Dragon had been feeling good, he was undefeated and felt he could take over the territory ruled by the Warlord of the the rough Northern Tyrannian tribes, and so he took his minion horde up to do battle with Draizurd. But he under-estimated the cunning and dark magic that Draizurd and his Drakes had at their disposal.
This was the beginning of the end for the Dark Dragon and his horde. The Drakes did not take the incoming assult well, and didn't fight fair. The entire horde ended up abandoning the Dark Dragon and running to their assorted homes with their tails between their legs.
Slinking off to his CaveDragging his statue of his best friend, muttering interrupted by the occasional giggle-scream could be heard echoing down the dank and dark tunnels leading into the heart of Mount Maximus. As the years passed; the rumors started about how the mountain was haunted and how death would come swiftly to any that ventured near the poisoned entrance to the Dark Dragon's cave.
Cavernous Minions
Given he didn't have command of his armies of darkness due to being deep beneath the surface, the Dark Dragon nonetheless was never alone. Even the blind worms, Barbats, Batterflies, and Spyders of the subterranean abyss couldn't resist his charms. He used the creatures of the mountain as his eyes and ears for years before the Dark Dragon decided to return to the surface.
Resurfacing
When the Dark Dragon finally emerged from his self-imposed isolation, he was unamused to find out that he had been completely erased from history, and all of his exploits attributed to others. The battles he had won were swept under the rug of the army as a whole, and no one knew his name... Thus began his most violent outburst of all...
Revenge
In his rage of being forgotten, the air began to spark, and red and purple clouds began to swirl around him; he spoke his anger and it turned into a curse that lifted Darigan Castle straight out of the ground and caused it to shift aimlessly, without any purpose or control.
As you have removed me from my homeland, so shall you be removed!
All the light disappeared for a brief moment and the curse was set for all eternity.
Old Haunts
Now that he had returned to Neopia, he needed to find a home base to begin his reign of terror once more. The Dark Dragon travelled to his old castle and found it in dire need of major repair. He decided that it was as good of place as any to begin again. And upon their arrival the statue of Maurus began to change...
